2025-2026
21/24 January 2026
On Wednesday evening, 21 January, after the last concert of the festival phase of the Liszt Competition Utrecht in the Hertz Hall of TivoliVredenburg, all eight finalists will be presented with the book Franz Liszt in the Netherlands prior to the announcement of the three winners who will perform with orchestra during the Grande finale. This is a gesture from the Franz Liszt Circle and a fitting gift, as Liszt himself performed at the “Theater op het Vredenburg” on 9 December 1842, at exactly the same location where the modern concert hall now stands. On the day of the Final, Saturday 24 January, I will have the opportunity to present the book in the Foyer of the Main Hall, starting at 3 p.m.; admission is free.
